This partnership was forged over years of collaboration. Russ leads on the technical and delivery side using his vast experience across all sectors as well as having a keen legal eye and well-rounded view on deal structuring. Nick is a self-confessed numbers geek, who focuses on building long term relationships, sourcing opportunities, deal structuring and securing funding. Their differing skill sets complement one another, creating a team capable of delivering complexity with confidence.
Axis was born from a desire to do things differently. Both founders had spent years in environments where bureaucracy and rigid structures often stifled progress and creativity. Frustrated by these limitations, they launched Axis to challenge traditional development models, prioritising collaboration and long-term relationships over short-term wins.

Get to Know Russ
Russ is a Chartered Surveyor with 20+ years of experience in construction, development and real estate finance. With a track record boasting the development of over 3,000 PBSA beds, +300 BTR units and in excess of 900 hospitality beds and 180,000 sq. ft of office space, he has an innate understanding of large-scale urban projects. His approach to real estate isn’t just about numbers, it’s about problem-solving. Navigating complex development challenges and thinking several steps ahead, he is an invaluable asset to the business, delivering every project with integrity and precision.
Having previously worked in family-led businesses, he understands the importance of relationships and long-term thinking. No deal is worth sacrificing honesty or transparency, which is why we operate with a straightforward open-book approach.
One thing you might not know? Based in Lancashire, he loves to swim and spend quality time outdoors with his family.

Get to Know Nick
With over 25 years in property, Nick has built a reputation as a strategic thinker with a broad understanding of funding, investment and development. A Chartered Surveyor by trade, he has worked with industry heavyweights including CBRE, Lambert Smith Hampton and Property Alliance Group, building experience in innovative financial structuring and strategic development/asset management and regeneration.
His strength lies in a natural knack for identifying fundable projects and structuring deals that create value for investors and communities alike. Playing a key role in bringing PBSA and BTR into the mainstream regional markets, he has also introduced funding models that enable otherwise unviable projects to succeed.
A natural people person, Nick engages with landowners, stakeholders, local authorities, funders and investor partners always with a view to align interests, thrives on seeing projects through from initial concepts to fully realised developments and aligning every detail with the broader long-term vision. One thing you might not know? Originally from Bristol, he now considers himself an adopted Mancunian having lived in the borough of Trafford for more than 20 years and raised his family here as well as being a life- long Manchester United fan and season ticket holder.
